At The Finish Line

Hello Viewers,
I can't believe this is the last time I'll be blogging about this project! It's been a long 4 month journey containing several ups and downs (mostly downs). But it's nearly over; all that lies ahead is the presentation, and my nerves are continuing to grow for that. I've accomplished so much for this project, and I'm happy with the result. Below, I've pasted a screenshot of what my final presentation is going to look like for Tuesday night.
Throughout this project, I have been able to obtain information that should be very useful to me throughout the next couple years considering I'm planning to attempt to be recruited for college basketball.
During the duration of this project, I've learned a lot about myself as a student and a worker. I learned that I procrastinate for an unhealthy amount of time which could end up resulting catastrophic in the future. I'm aware that I need to fix that now. Secondly, I found out that when I really put myself to it, I can produce high level work.
What's been frustrating to me about this project is just that it's a pretty decent amount of work to be completed in the middle of several other projects for several other classes. So it was just difficult to stay caught up and prioritize this project when there were so many others.
My advice for next years students is to really pick a subject that you have a passion for. A quote that supports this is one by Aristotle. I thought I'd past a picture of it written below for more emphasis.
This quote supports what I said because it means that if you pick a topic that you really enjoy, it'll be feeding and educating your heart as well as your mind. But if there was one thing that I could've done differently throughout this entire project it would be that I should've prioritized this project more and spent more time producing my best work for it. That is another piece of advice that I have for next year's sophomore class; stay on track! If you stay on track and complete each project on time, you have a much better chance of enjoying the project and succeeding on it. But ultimately, I'm proud of what I accomplished throughout this project and I will take what I learned on with me for a long time. Thank you all for reading my blogs! I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Almost There!

Hello Viewers,
I'm so close to the end goal! I can't believe that I'm nearing not only the close of this project but of my sophomore year as well which marks the halfway point of my high school career. But that's irrelevant at the moment, let's get down to business. I've been doing my best to stay on track as the final deadline approaches at a rapid pace. I feel like a broken record as once again I have to repeat myself: there is a lot to be done. Although, the good news is, I have created the basic aspects of my website. As I already stated in a previous blog post, the website I'm utilizing for this is, Wiz Websites. Below, I've posted a picture of a preview of what my website will look like.
The things still included for me to complete this project include, first of all, putting together all of the research that I have obtained on this subject. This step will include creating all of the steps with research to back them up. I have already conducted all the research, I just need to utilize them for each of the steps. This will prove that the steps are not made up and have evidence to back them up. Lastly, and the most important step in my opinion will be practicing for the presentation. I've already expressed how presentations and public speech is my kryptonite in a sense. Due to this unfortunate situation, in order for my presentations to be even halfway decent, I need to practice for a great deal of time. This is what I plan on doing for this project in particular.
But ultimately, I'm feeling pretty confident about how this project is turning out. The final product is looking even better than I expected. There have been a few changes that I've made though, and may be soon to make as well. For example, I might change which website creator I'll use to place my steps. The reason behind this is because this website creator is more for business. Whereas I'd like a template that is rather general in use. The website I was thinking of is Weebly. I've pasted a picture of it below.

The reason I'm considering this is because you can chose to make a personal template for your website. Whereas the one I'm utilizing at the moment does not have this option. Until next time viewers, thank you again for your time! More to come.

Improving

Hello Viewers,
I'm satisfied to inform you of my recent progress regarding my Genius Project final product! I've found a lot more additional research on the subject of basketball recruitment that I believe will prove to be extremely helpful to those who utilize it effectively. For instance, as I stated in my public pitch video which is currently on YouTube, even with all of the resources in the world, if you don't have the skill you will not be recruited. So one of the first resources I collected was an effective workout posted by USA Basketball conducted by esteemed basketball minds: USA Basketball 45 Minute Daily Workout. Studies say repetition of the correct habits signify positive outcomes.
Now, what I have left to complete is the final product of the project itself as well as the plan. For the plan, I've made a good amount of progress and I know exactly what I need to do to complete it so it shouldn't take up an abundant amount of time. For the final product however, I'd estimate it'd take up most of the remaining project time we have left for this project. Originally, I had planned on putting all of the steps into a presentation but unfortunately the presentation and the final product are required to be two separate pieces. So instead, I decided I'd create a website. I have already found the website which I'll be utilizing in order to make my own which I screenshotted and placed below.

So by Monday I plan on starting this website.
This is obviously one of the few changes that I have made to my plan considering previously I wasn't planning on creating a website. This is the only recent change that comes to mind regarding my Genius Project Plan. Ultimately though, I am still feeling very confident about my plan and about the final product. Although, with the due date for this project nearing and nearing, the realization that I will have to complete a presentation in front of a large group of people is becoming more and more evident. Due to my lack of confidence with presentations, I'm planning on setting a lot of time aside to practice the presentation and build up my confidence. So, we'll see how it goes when the time comes. But other than that everything's going very well. Thank you again for your time! More to come.
